Allianz Retire+ continues growth with senior appointments

Sydney, Australia (7 February 2023) Allianz Retire+ today announces three new appointments to its leadership team.
Jason Hunt joins the company as Head of Marketing, Sandrine de Bonhome has relocated from Allianz headquarters in Munich to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer and Sandra Bridgewater starts a new position as Head of Human Resources.
Allianz Australia Life Insurance CEO, Adrian Stewart said, “We are committed to delivering flexible retirement solutions to superfunds, platforms and advisers. We have assembled the right people with the right skills to realise this vision. These new appointments continue to bolster our expertise in delivering greater certainty to Australian retirees.”
Speaking on the appointments, Mr Stewart said, “Jason brings nearly two decades of marketing experience to the business. He offers a unique mix of product and relationship management expertise communicating across institutional, wholesale and retail channels. His most recent role as Perpetual Asset Management Australia’s Head of Marketing saw him deliver strong results in driving the strategic growth of the business.”
“Sandrine is a highly credentialed risk management specialist, boasting a Bachelor of Mathematics from the Universite de Namur, a Master of Mathematics from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and Master of Financial Mathematics from Kings College London.
Sandrine is a specialist in corporate risk management, product development and capital management. She has over a decade of experience working with Allianz, holding multiple positions across the group and the globe. We are thrilled to have Sandrine relocate to Australia from Allianz headquarters in Munich to support our growth ambitions.
We also welcome Sandra, who has extensive experience managing people in various HR leadership positions over her twenty-year career. Sandra is committed to building and influencing the people and culture agenda to deliver commercial people and culture solutions.”
The appointments of Jason, Sandrine and Sandra follow a raft of senior hires for the company towards the end of last year. Including Andrew Stewart joining as the Head of Distribution, Malcolm Weir as Head of Life Protection and Jasmine Jirele as a new Board member from the Allianz Life business in the US. This now completes the re-direction of the business under the new CEO.
Mr Stewart continued, “We have aligned our business to help our partners deliver on the objectives of the retirement income covenant which came into effect from July last year. We now have deep sector expertise within the business, and are well positioned to support advisers, trustees and superfunds deliver retirement solutions to their clients and members.”.

Jason Hunt, Head of Marketing
Jason is a highly credentialed, deliverable focused marketing professional. With over 18 years’ experience working within financial services and investments, Jason offers a unique mix of product and relationship management expertise. Commencing his career at Citi Jason developed his marketing acumen with time at Credit Suisse asset management, ING Australia, ANZ Wealth and Zurich.
Jason’s most recent role as Head of Marketing with asset manager Perpetual saw him deliver strong results for the business. During his seven-year tenure he launched a range of client-led investments solutions including the company’s first suite of Active ETFs. He was instrumental in driving the strategic growth of the business across institutional, wholesale and retail channels.
Sandrine de Bonhome, Chief Financial Officer
Sandrine de Bonhome is a specialist in corporate risk management, product development and capital management. With over a decade of experience working with Allianz, Sandrine has held positions across the group and globe. Commencing in Brussels, she built her risk management expertise before moving to the ALM Global Team Life/Health in Munich where she led product development and review, provided investment recommendations to senior leaders in the business and delivered risk-return analysis.
Sandrine then moved to Singapore to lead asset-liability management across the Asian region, including in-force and new products, first as Senior Associate Asset Liability Management before being promoted to Vice President Asset Liability Management. Following her time in Asia, she relocated to the US in the role of Financial Risk Manager where she oversaw all product topics from a risk point of view, before returning to Munich in 2021 as Head of H3 Board Office (Investment, ESG, Life/Health).
Sandra Bridgewater, Head of Human Resources
Sandra is a highly experienced, results driven leader in people management. With over two decades of HR experience working across APAC and EMEA, Sandra understands how to build positive work environments for teams to thrive. Sandra was most recently the Head of HR for Investment Manager Magellan. Sandra is committed to building and influencing the people and culture agenda to deliver commercial people and culture solutions.
